As the first day of class comes upon us we at L’Acadien want to welcome back everyone to campus. 

The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership has a variety of events layed out over a two week span to welcome back students. Cajun Craze is full of fun interactive events hosted by various student organizations. One event kicking off Cajun Craze is Student Convocation. Incoming freshmen were able to be formally welcomed to campus at Student Convocation August 21 at the Cajundome where speakers were able to welcome everyone and show the endless possibilities our university has to offer.

There are still many events that are a part of Cajun Craze that you can take part in. Get On Board Day takes place in the Quad where over 100 student organizations can show off what they do. This is a day where all students have a chance to see where they might fit in and get involved in campus activities. There will also be free handouts and refreshments.

Other events include IFC Cook-Off in the Rose Garden on August 24 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm, Rec Fest at Bourgeois Hall Rec Center on August 25 from 5:45 pm – 9:00 pm, Bike to the Farmer’s Market at Moncus Park on August 27 from 9:00 am – 10:30 am and Ragin’ Roar at the Student Union Porch on September 1 from 7:00 pm -8:30 pm.

As the semester rolls along, look forward to exciting announcements from L’Acadien and the rest of Student Publications.
