UPC presents Miss UL Lafayette 2022

The Miss UL Lafayette pageant was held on March 11 at Angelle Hall. The pageant featured 18 contestants from the university that competed in three different categories.

There was a panel of five judges including Krista Toussant, Erica Precht, Marjorie Parker, Kyle D. Smith, Ph.d, and Jaylon Lewis. 

The judges scored the contestants based on their performance over the course of the night. The swimsuit category judged contestants on their figure and confidence. In the evening gown category the contestants wore formal dresses and were critiqued for their overall appearance and beauty.

The contestants were then narrowed down to the top five and asked interview questions. The top five finalists were Bailey Mire, Madi Conrad, Alyssa Landry, Sydney Fox, and Kalli Rose Segura. The title of Miss UL Lafayette was awarded to Alyssa Landry.

 “I am so excited and so humble to have this opportunity to represent the university and I am so excited for this year,” Landry said, “I am looking forward to competing at state and also just really bringing the community in and seeing what I can make an impact with for the year,”

The University Program Council organized the pageant. UPC is in charge of professional events at UL and is run by the students for the students. UPC plans events such as Homecoming Week and Lagniappe Day. The Miss UL Lafayette pageant is one of the many traditions at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
